Hammons Sells Oil Interest, Will Fund Campaign
Unity Party 2nd Congressional District Candidate Bill Hammons
has sold his interest in Pioneer Exploration, an oil and gas
exploration company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Hammons
will contribute at least $10,000 of the funds towards his
Congressional campaign.
"I completed and returned my Sierra Club candidate
questionnaire a few weeks ago, and I agree with almost every one of
the Club's stances on environmental issues," says Hammons. "But I
woke up the next morning and realized that I was being a hypocrite
by holding on to my Pioneer interest, which I inherited a quarter
of a century ago.
"I have sold my entire interest in the Adams A and Adams B fields
of Crane County, Texas, and can now say that I am practicing what
I preach. Furthermore, I will be contributing $10,000 towards my
Congressional campaign as soon as the Pioneer check clears. This
relatively small amount of funding will show potentional
contributors that I will do what it takes to keep my campaign
viable, and I am fully prepared to inject additional funds as
needed towards that end."
