Boulder, Colo. -- The first debate of the general election race for Colorado's 2nd Congressional District (the Northglenn-Thornton Rotary Club forum) has now been postponed twice. The first date was proposed by the Rotary Club in May, but it was only after Jared Polis's victory in the Democratic primary that it was decided August 19th was too soon after that victory. Then the September 9th date was canceled due to a scheduling conflict.

"I find Jared's change of heart quite remarkable," says Bill Hammons, Unity Party candidate for the Second District. "One of my advisors' voicemail went unanswered, even after I sent an opened email to Jared telling him to keep an eye out. I am fully aware that Mr. Polis would like to take a mid-August break from politics after winning his party's nomination, but his camp knew about the first debate for three months, and, after this latest postponement, it's time to stand up for the 'robust multi-party race' Jared so eagerly wanted in January."

Subject: Re: Another candidate for Congress from Boulder - some interesting ideas

John,

I emailed Bill when he announced (and even stopped by his announcement event to meet him) and want to get together with him but he hasn't responded. If you are in contact with him, please suggest that he meet with me, I would love to hear about his ideas for the country. It would be great to have a robust multi-party race in the general.

For now, alas I am only talking to Democrats (although at one of my events in Grand County today I met with a Republcian in Fraser).

Jared
