Hammons Signs Pickens Energy Independence Pledge

Boulder, Colo. -- Bill Hammons, Unity Party of America candidate for Colorado's 2nd Congressional District (Fact Sheet: http://bill-for-congress.us/hammons-fact-sheet.htm), has signed T. Boone Pickens' Energy Independence Pledge to reduce foreign oil dependence by 30% within 10 years.

"I don't agree with everything in the Pickens Plan," says Hammons, "but I'm a firm believer in compromise for the sake of progress, and I don't think this country can go wrong with wind energy and a massive overhaul of our electrical grid to accomodate new sources of renewable energy. As I wrote on my faxed copy of the Pledge, 'If there's anything I can do as a candidate or as a Congressman to help put this plan in place, I am all for it.'"
